Typepad Suffers DDoS Attack Taking Many Blogs Down

As of 4 a.m. this morning, Ride the Lightning appears to be back. And why, oh why, was I up at 4 a.m.? One of life's great unanswerable questions . . .
Typepad suffered a serious DDoS attack (more likely a series of them) as described by a post from Techcrunch. These things can and will happen so I am not part of an exodus from Typepad, which I have enjoyed as a blogging platform. There are still some issues to be resolved – including, I imagine, some defenses which need to be strengthened and possible vulnerabilities which need to be investigated and remediated.
They typical scenario involves attacking until a ransom is paid, but it is not known if that happened here.
I understand that Typepad doesn't want to give details of the attacks – never let your enemy know what you know. Six days seems like eternity to a blogger. For those of you who e-mailed me with concern, thanks. All's well that ends well – assuming it is has ended!
