E-Discovery Isn't Just Something Lawyers Hire Vendors to Do

October 22, 2013

Nothing is as refreshing and welcome on a Sunday morning as waking up to find a new blog post from e-discovery savant Craig Ball. Where else could you find Zamundan Royal Backside Wipers, the Crawleys of Downton Abbey, Promethean lawyers and a lesson in French cursing?

Craig's point is that lawyers need to actually learn something about e-discovery and technology to make themselves useful – not simply farm e-discovery out to vendors. Some certainly do exactly that, and although they do continue to bill for their services, they are largely superfluous – even, as Craig suggests, meddlers in the process.

Craig offers up an excellent and useful list of lawyer duties in e-discovery. But most of all, go read the post and delight in his linguistic flourishes – he will teach and brighten your day at the same time.
