THE “HOPE” STATE (R.I.) EXEMPTS COMPUTER FORENSICS FROM PI LAWS

July 9, 2008

How fitting that Rhode Island, whose state motto is simply “Hope,” has provided exactly that to computer forensics specialists frustrated by states which try to shoehorn computer forensics into their PI licensing structure. On June 30, 2008, Rhode Island’s new law specifically exempts from its PI statute, “an individual employed as a computer forensics specialist who holds professional certification as a computer examiner.”

Way to go Rhode Island!
