Homeland Security: I'm From the Government and I'm Here to Help

December 8, 2015

Believe it or not, there's some truth to that. Homeland Security offers a number of information security resources for small and mid-sized businesses. There's a self-assessment tool and a cyber resilience review, which you can conduct yourself – subject to availability, Homeland Security even offers to assist with pen testing and consulting services. Frankly, I would rather hire an outside consultant for services that are more in-depth and continuing, but still, it's a nice service.

The resources include toolkits, training resources, planners, handbooks and whitepapers – and links to excellent resources from other branches of the government.

It's not very often I pat the government on the back, but this is a good effort and I salute Homeland Security for its work here.
