ABA TECHSHOW 2014 – The Usual Information Overload and a Lot of Fun

April 1, 2014

There is no way the human mind can process all the information that ABA TECHSHOW offers. As always, the educational sessions were outstanding. The NSA cropped up in a number of them, including the keynote and the plenary session by John Dean. Needless to say, cybersecurity was a huge concern (more than normal) at this TECHSHOW.

The Taste of TECHSHOW dinners are always a highlight – we had an especially lively and fun crew at ours eager to talk about marketing tips while feasting on tapas.

John and I really enjoyed Rick Klau's keynote but were even more struck by John Dean's plenary looking back at Watergate. So many lawyers jumped over ethical and criminal lines – that might be worthy of a separate blog post for those who couldn't come. He was witty and philosophical by turns – completely captivating.

The Expo Hall was sensational as always – we continue to be impressed by how friendly the vendors are without strong-arming their visitors into sales. If you want to read some of the major news from the Expo, our friend Bob Ambrogi wrote an excellent post on the top 10 product announcements.

Thanks to the ABA TECHSHOW Board for crafting a wonderful adventure and to Chair Natalie Kelly for being captain of the ship. We had more attendees than we've ever had and the feedback was spectacular. As we bid Natalie a fond welcome "to the pasture" (I was Chair in 2006), we welcomed new Chair Brett Burney, who will (we have faith in you Brett!) do an equally wonderful job. Trust me, having been in the wheelhouse, it's a daunting task! 🙂

Don't forget to mark your calendars for next year's ABA TECHSHOW, which will be April 16-18, 2015 at the Chicago Hilton. John and I thank all who stopped to chat with us – one of our favorite parts of TECHSHOW is connecting with friends and colleagues – see you next year!
