Mary Mack Named the New Executive Director of ACEDS

I was surprised and delighted to receive a call from colleague Mary Mack on Monday letting me know that she had been appointed the Executive Director of ACEDS. I obligingly waited for the press release to be issued which happened yesterday.

Mary is a frequent e-discovery speaker and author – she excels in relationship and community building, skills which will serve her well in her new position. She is very well respected by her peers in the e-discovery sector.

"I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead ACEDS and to be a part of BARBRI,” said Mary. “ACEDS has created a world-class certification and supporting organization, and more importantly, they’ve advanced the conversation on e-discovery. We at ACEDS have an opportunity to shift ourselves and our profession toward greater justice, open collaboration and more overall understanding of the growing importance of e-discovery.”

Prior to joining ACEDS, Mary served in a leadership role for ZyLab, a global provider of e-discovery and intelligent information governance software. Before that, she was with Fios, Inc. a provider of e-discovery services to Fortune 1000 corporations and major law firms.

As the press release notes, with Mary as its leader, "ACEDS further strengthens its commitment of building an international community of e-discovery specialists for the exchange of ideas, guidance, training and best practices. Mary will be supported by a newly centralized team of ACEDS certification & training professionals to serve the community. Her expanded team of e-discovery experts will be closely attuned to industry happenings and changes, and allow ACEDS members to quickly access the expertise and support they may need."

For those who have long memories, I have not always been a fan of ACEDS. But I like what I have seen recently and I am a big fan of Mary's. Lifting a glass to your success Mary!
