New Digital Edge Podcast: Is Ghost Blogging Ethical?

August 20, 2013

This is the second time I've looked at that issue – and found the same conclusion. Legal Talk Network recently published the latest edition of The Digital Edge: Lawyers and Technology. Co-host Jim Calloway and I were delighted to welcome Kevin O'Keefe, the founder and CEO of Lexblog, a leading provider of social media and blogging to law firms.

Kevin certainly had some firm views. He believes that ghost blogging defeats the very purpose of blogging (I agree). And without disclosure, he believes, as do I, that ghost blogging by lawyers violates ethical rules.

Nonetheless, lawyers are flocking to ghost blogging to provide "Google juice" to their websites.

This subject has been hotly debated in the last couple of months – thanks Kevin for joining the growing chorus of voices warning attorneys about the ethical implications of ghost blogging.
