SINCE I’VE BEEN BANGING ON TEXAS . . .

July 3, 2008

Thanks to those readers who wrote and are also upset with the requirement in some states that computer forensics technologists obtain PI licenses to practice their profession. As one reader pointed out, there is a valuable link worthy of mention.

The now notorious Texas Private Security Bureau (see yesterday’s post for details) has just published opinions it issued from 2006-June 2008 in response to questions it has received. Many professions are apparently conceivably included in this very self-interested and protectionist law. The opinions may be found at http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/psb/docs/psb_opin_sum.pdf.

Do not read it without something harmless to punch nearby.
