Watch Jigsaw Ransomware in Action

January 4, 2017

Recently, John and I had the pleasure of recording one of our Digital Detectives podcasts with Sheri Davidoff, the founder of LMG Security. The subject was ransomware – and its prevention – watch for the podcast to go live in the next couple of weeks here. You may have to wait a bit but that's ok. Obama vs. Trump on Cybersecurity is currently up there . . . lots of folks talking about that topic too.

While you wait to hear Sherri, there is nothing as compelling as watching a video of ransomware at work. LMG made a video of Jigsaw ransomware attacking a machine, encrypting files and demanding a ransom in bitcoin. You even get to watch the clock click down the seconds until more files are encrypted. Thanks LMG for a real-life look into how ransomware operates in your blog post.

At just over six minutes, it is perfect with a cup of Chai tea.
