Florida Man Arrested for Human Trafficking & Child Pornography

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office recently published an article on their website about a man in Oldsmar, Florida arrested as a suspect for multiple crimes.

On July 7, 2022, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office detectives found a missing juvenile girl at a Tampa Bay Extended Stay Hotel. When detectives found the young girl, they also found 27-year-old Xavier Dushawn Vanellison hiding in the closet of the hotel room.

The 16-year-old girl had been reported missing since late March of 2022 and the Digital Forensics Unit found that she was posted on several social media platforms and websites as providing escort services. She also told detectives she first met Xavier Dushawn Vanellison around May of 2022 and started working for him by taking part in sexual acts for money with other men.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office detectives, “Vanellison engaged in a sexual relationship with the juvenile and also took explicit photos of her. Detectives say Vanellison created online profiles, advertising the sale of sexual acts with the juvenile.”

Vanellison wasn’t arrested until November 3, 2022, but he was charged with one count of Human Trafficking, one count of Child Abuse, one count of Possession of Cocaine, one count of Unlawfaul Sex Acts with a Minor, ten counts of promoting the Sexual Performance of a Child, and 11 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
