Symantec Committing to Microsoft Cloud

Enterprises need to pay attention to what vendors are thinking and the direction technology is moving in. The cloud is a huge technology movement and Symantec just woke up the world. Symantec has announced that it is moving 105 of its on-premise infrastructure offerings to Microsoft Azure. Hello? That's a big deal! "Our focus is helping organizations, governments and people secure their most important data, wherever it lives," said Sheila Jordan, Symantec senior vice president and CIO. "The cloud is key to our strategy to accelerate innovation internally, streamline operations, and ultimately protect and empower our customers in the digital age. Microsoft has been a strong partner and has helped us to painlessly execute our strategy, far exceeding its commitment to ensure our success."

Microsoft cloud services are really good (including Office 365). I'm afraid that there will be many less opportunities for clients to control their technology with local installations. The cloud is the future and we won't have many choices to hope for a non-stormy journey.
