New Firefox Features Worth Looking At

August 3, 2017

The Firefox browser has some new beta features that are worth investigating. Mozilla recently announced three new features for the Firefox browser. There is a Test Pilot for the browser that introduces new features prior to general release. The three new recent features include Send, Voice Fill and Notes. One of the most interesting features is Send. Send allows you to send a link to a file up to 1GB that will "self-destruct" when the user downloads the file or within 24 hours if not downloaded. The files are encrypted in transmission and while stored on the Mozilla servers. The claim is that the files cannot be accessed by Mozilla, but we've heard that story before. Despite the recent announcement that the data is deleted, we need to see if that is really true and that there aren't any telling artifacts left behind following a forensic examination.

Firefox is not my primary browser (Chrome is), but I think the Send add-on is worth a try.
