Tired of Chrome Closing Without a Warning Box?
November 10, 2016
I'll have to admit that I have inadvertently clicked on the red X in Chrome and mistakenly shut it down when multiple tabs were open. No warning. Nothing. Well, PCWorld has a workaround to protect you from yourself and get Chrome to warn you before shutting down. Open the website Prevent Close by Germany-based developer Michael Armbruster. The site uses JavaScript to pop up a warning dialog box if you try to leave the website. Leave the website open in Chrome and you'll get a warning if you inadvertently click on the red X. You even configure Chrome to launch the website in a tab when you start Chrome. The hack is not very elegant, but it works.
