Flaws Found in Many Security Products

August 2, 2016

We all trust our security products to protect our environment from attacks. The flaws are not just limited to AVG, Symantec or McAfee products. The Register reported that hundreds of security products may be impacted because of flawed uses of code hooking. Security researchers Udi Yavo and Tommer Bitton of EnSilo disclosed the bugs ahead of their presentation scheduled for this year's Black Hat conference. The pair said, "We found six different common security issues that stem from incorrect implementation of code hooking and injections techniques."

Bottom line. Make sure you apply patches as soon as they are released. Many of the impacted vendors have already fixed the problem.
