Samsung Phones Vulnerable to Remote Wipe

If you own a Samsung phone (we do) be very careful about using the ‘Find My Mobile’ app. BGR reported on a vulnerability where the phone can be remotely wiped without the owner’s permission. Apparently, Samsung does not check where the wiping request originates, thereby giving hackers the ability to impersonate the owner. Hopefully, the flaw will be patched shortly. In the interim, use a different location and wipe utility such as Lookout, which is what we use.
