LexisNexis Shutting Down Firm Manager for Good

Leave it to our friend and colleague, Bob Ambrogi, to be the first to release information about the LexisNexis case management system going dark. When LexisNexis first introduced Firm Manager, I wrote about it in our Solo and Small Firm Legal Technology Guide and it wasn't pretty. The following issues showed that Firm Manager was maturing and addressing many of the needs of the solo and small firm practitioner. Apparently, the pressure from the competition was too great for LexisNexis and it is shutting down the program. LexisNexis hopes that you will stay with its offerings and go with the Time Matters and PCLaw bundle. I would recommend against that and look at some of the other practice management solutions. The Tabs3/Practice Master solution is worth a look for on-premises choices. Look at MyCase and Clio for cloud solutions.
