Lollipop Not Encrypted By Default
March 3, 2015
Encryption protects your data, even from the government. The FBI, law enforcement and government agencies went ballistic when Apple released iOS 8 on the iPhone 6 with encryption enabled by default. Not to be outdone, Google announced that the next version of Android would do the same thing. Enable encryption by default. Well, apparently Google did a little shoe shuffle and didn’t make good on its word. The latest version of Android (Lollipop) does not encrypt by default. Not a problem since enabling encryption is easy. Just check the box in the security settings.
