Twitter Character Limit Now 280

November 8, 2017

For years Twitter only allowed 140 characters per tweet. The limit hampered some users, especially where there were a bunch of retweets. I don't understand what all the hype is about, but Twitter now allows up to 280 characters per tweet. Not to worry if 280 isn't enough for you to express your thoughts. Some German pranksters have figured out that you can use a very, very long URL and send a tweet that is more than 30,000 characters. Perhaps instead of worrying if you can squeeze a message into 280 characters, try to actually call someone and carry on a conversation or better yet, have a face-to-face discussion.
