What Happens to Your Digital Assets When You Shuffle Off This Mortal Coil?

August 8, 2012

I had a chance to discuss this with Jim Blue on Legal Talk Radio. The show will air live on Thursday, August 9th at 4:30 but here's the link if you can't listen in person. The link will be live after the show airs.

There is a sudden upsurge of interest in this topic as real people with real digital assets problems are increasing in number. How about the lady whose husband, who handled all the finances and did all the family banking and bill paying online, dies? She doesn't know the ID and password and the bank won't help. In the meantime, her credit suffers because her husband had gone paperless and she can't make any online payments. She has no clue what is due to whom.

This and many other nightmare scenarios are happening to ordinary folks who never thought about digital assets. Hopefully, attorneys are now getting educated on this subject so they can properly counsel their clients.

I have to express my thanks to my friend Dennis Kennedy who first got me interested in subject!
