SHARON NELSON QUOTED IN NATIONAL LAW JOURNAL ARTICLE
March 12, 2015
On March 2, 2015 Sensei’s Sharon Nelson was quoted in a National Law Journal article entitled, “Lawyers’ Departures Fuel Fight Over Laptops.” The National Law Journal provides in-depth coverage of the issues that mean the most to private practitioners, judges, corporate lawyers, government attorneys and other members of the legal community. The article highlights the possible technological dangers when lawyers leave their firms.
Sharon’s quote:
The process for determining which client information departing attorneys can take with them has become increasingly difficult as lawyers use more electronic devices, such as laptops and smartphones, to store the data, said Sharon Nelson, president of Sensei Enterprises Inc., a digital forensics firm in Fairfax, Virginia, that works with law firms.
“For many firms, this is not a happy process and very difficult for them to figure out what to do,” she said. “It really ends up being a process of negotiation by people who are all very angry with each other.”
Still, most situations don’t end up in court, she said.
