Sensei Sponsors Second Online NSAI/VLF/VACLE Benefit Concert
June 10, 2020
Excerpt from Virginia CLE®:
Come join the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), the Virginia Law Foundation (VLF) and the educational division of Virginia CLE® (VACLE) for a one-of-a-kind private, online benefit concert series to help support some of Virginia’s worthiest law-related not-for-profits, while also restoring some joy, some normalcy, and something special to look forward to during these challenging and turbulent days.
The first online concert featuring Garth Brooks co-writer Kent Blazy was such an impressive success that Virginia CLE® and the Nashville Songwriters Association International formalized our arrangement to offer a series of similar events to bring some joy, some incredible music, some wonderful stories behind the songs, and some normalcy to our challenging days and weeks. The VACLE is thoroughly delighted to launch this “concert plus CLE” series and even more pleased to welcome Sensei Enterprises, Inc. as the signature sponsor.
Zoom Training for Lawyers and Using It Securely
The 1-hour online CLE Program is “Zoom Training for Lawyers and Using It Securely” taught by national experts Sharon Nelson and John Simek on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 6 pm ET.
The second online concert in this series will follow, featuring Nashville songwriter Bobby Tomberlin at 7 pm ET. Bobby is best known for writing Diamond Rio’s #1 hit “One More Day.”
This will immediately be followed at 7 pm ET by our second online concert, this time featuring Nashville singer, songwriter, and storyteller Bobby Tomberlin. Cost for the CLE program and the online concert is $85. Cost for the online concert only is $20. And as always, the entire share of VACLE revenue will support Virginia Law Foundation grants made to underfunded law-related not-for-profit organizations throughout the Commonwealth.
Bobby Tomberlin
This month’s concert features the remarkable Bobby Tomberlin, a true Nashville songwriting legend with an amazing voice and equally amazing stories to share.
Bobby is a CMA, ACM & Grammy nominee who was raised in Luverne, AL, where he was a disc jockey at the age of 11, interviewing icons like Johnny Cash, Waylon and Tammy Wynette. He was discovered by Hall of Fame member Mel Tillis at a young age and is perhaps best known for co-writing “One More Day,” recorded by Diamond Rio and nominated for Song of the Year in 2003. You can listen to “One More Day” here.
He and Darryl Worley also wrote Darryl’s Top 10 hit, “A Good Day To Run.” Bobby has also had songs recorded by Blake Shelton, Faith Hill, Barbra Streisand, Willie Nelson, Josh Turner, Kenny Rogers, Joe Diffie, Pam Tillis, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Oak Ridge Boys, John Schneider, and many others. He has played with the likes of Loretta Lynn and Vince Gill, and his songs have been featured in numerous films, as well.
Finally, Bobby was one of the stars of the CMT hit series, The Singing Bee, for five seasons and has also been featured in several films including Wheeler, co-starring with Stephen Dorff and Kris Kristofferson. With this much star power, we expect you’ll find that spending an hour listening to his songs and stories will be one of the most enjoyable hours you’ve spent in a long time.
