Find Out if You are a Screwed Facebook User

Well, that title is totally redundant. It should appear obvious that you are already screwed just by creating a Facebook account. You’ve given up your privacy and agreed to allow Facebook to sell your soul. It’s not just Facebook that is selling your data, cybercriminals have breached Facebook and are actively exposing the data of 533 million users. As Brian Krebs said, “Are You One of the 533M People Who Got Facebooked?“

Assuming you are already a Facebook user, how do you know if your information is part of the treasure trove sucked up by attackers? Troy Hunt has modified his data breach information site and posted information allowing you to search with your mobile phone number and not just your email address to see if you are part of the compromised Facebook users. As the WOPR computer said in the movie War Games, “A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.” Lesson learned. Kill your Facebook ID if you value your privacy.
