Tesla Owners Can Now Play Video Games While Driving

December 8, 2021

Tesla has allowed owners to play video games on the center console video screen, but only while the vehicle was parked. Ars Technica reports that the video game playing feature is now allowed to be activated while the vehicle is moving. There is a warning message that pops up before the game loads. “Use of Touch Arcade while the vehicle is in motion is only for passengers. Please check local laws prior to playing.” Shocker, but there is nothing preventing the driver from acknowledging the message and playing a game while driving.

In our area, I notice a significant amount of Tesla vehicles traveling at excessive speeds in an aggressive manner. Granted, there are a lot of crazy drivers on the roads, but it appears more of them are sitting in a Tesla. Perhaps it’s spending a lot of money on a “status” vehicle that gives you the right to drive like a jerk. Then again, maybe they are playing Gran Turismo and forgot the real steering wheel isn’t part of the game. Bottom line…not a good idea.
