Microsoft Edge is Second Most Popular Desktop Browser
May 4, 2022
Browser wars sounds like a cable channel series. As users surf around the internet, there are a lot of browser choices to select from. Google Chrome is by far the most popular browser, but a Gizmodo post reports that Apple’s Safari browser just took a back seat to Microsoft Edge. That puts Edge as the second most popular browser in use on desktop devices. According to web analytics company StatCounter, Edge holds a 10.07% market share. Safari is in third place with 9.61% market share and Firefox is at 7.86%. Google Chrome has a huge lead with 66.64% market share.
Browser usage on mobile devices is a different story. Chrome is the leader at 63.57% market share. Safari is at 24.82% share with Edge having an insignificant percentage. Google’s Chrome is the clear favorite across all devices.
