Senior partners often represent law firms’ biggest and highest-profile clients and have access to sensitive intel, such as trade secrets and financial information, making them prime targets for data breaches, according to cybersecurity experts.
At the same time, some senior partners are unaware of potential cybersecurity risks, leaving themselves and their firms vulnerable, experts say.
Given that senior partners pose heightened security risks to their firms, they should be required to participate in cybersecurity awareness training to mitigate their liability, said Sharon Nelson, president of information technology support and cybersecurity solutions provider Sensei Enterprises Inc.
