Speed Up Your SSD in Windows 11

September 28, 2022

Solid State Drives (SSD) are pretty much standard storage devices for modern computers. You do still find some spinning hard drives, but they’re becoming more rare. The major reason to go with SSD is to improve performance. Apparently users that upgraded to Windows 11 are complaining about poor SSD performance. TechViral has a post to help you improve the performance of SSDs in Windows 11.

  • Install the Windows 11 KB5007262 Update
  • Enable the Fast Startup
  • Disable Startup Programs on Windows 11
  • Disable the SSD Defragmentation

The post has the details to accomplish each of the recommendations. Too bad Windows 11 isn’t smart enough to know you have an SSD installed and disable fragmentation by default.
