Use Search Chips in Gmail for Faster Results

February 24, 2020

Google announced new search capabilities for Gmail in a blog post last week. Search chips lets you refine your search results to narrow in on what you're looking for. As Google explains, "For example, you can search a colleague's name and further narrow your results by selecting search chips like attachment type (Text document, Spreadsheet, PDF) or a specific timeframe. You can also filter out certain results, like calendar invites."

You don't have to do anything special to use search chips. They will be enabled by default. You can refine your search results by clicking on the search filter chips below the normal search box. The rollout started on February 19, 2020 and will take up to 15 days to complete.
