34 States Have Adopted the Ethical Duty of Competence with Technology

December 11, 2018

While I was happily cruising, my friend Bob Ambrogi was busy keeping everyone informed. Two important developments:

With the addition of Alaska and Montana, Bob reports that there are now 34 states which have adopted the duty of technology competence for lawyers.

And as Bob also reports, North Carolina has become the second state (Florida was the first) to mandate continuing technology training for lawyers, requiring that its lawyers complete one CLE hour each year of technology training.

As grateful as I am to Bob for keeping me up to date, all things considered, I'd rather be back on the ship!
