New Online Learning on E-Discovery Released

June 3, 2011

Guest Post by Jeffrey Ritter, Founder and CEO, The Ritter Academy

Since Sharon Nelson praised my first book on electronic discovery in 2006 (focused on evaluating the capabilities of outside law firms to manage e-discovery), I have worked to solve perhaps the fundamental source of e-discovery risk—the lack of learning assets that can engage business, IT and legal professionals to improve in managing digital information as evidence.  To be effective, those assets must be online, available on-demand, capable of being navigated by the professional, and truly designed to be effective instructional resources.

With the launch this month of The Ritter Academy, together with a full team of instructional designers, subject experts and professional production talent, we have succeeded in building a solution on which we are eager to receive your feedback.  We have tried to build a knowledge resource and training platform on which all professionals can see the whole picture–one which is dynamic, responsive to change, and available at an affordable price.

By developing, publishing and using in our training courses visual-based information maps, known as RitterMaps™, we offer a new approach–empowering professionals to adopt, quite literally, a shared picture of the problem and, as well, a shared vision of how to navigate the complexities toward a successful path forward.

Each of our courses is built on a technology platform that is interactive, engaging, and empowers the learner to control what they learn by allowing them to navigate to the answers they need to do their job.  Here is a short demonstration of how the learner controls that platform.

Each course includes brief videos in which I or other faculty will unfold a map and provide our strategic advice, cautions and direction.  Here is a sample visit to the Map Vault.

Our price is $489, $389 to members of participating Associations and, of course, lower for higher volume group purchases.  We are pleased that the Association of Litigation Support Professionals and the National Association of Consumer Advocates have already signed-up to make the Academy’s course offerings available to their members. Members can get the promo codes for the discount from those associations. Here is a link to more information on our enrollment options.

We invite you to visit The Ritter Academy, explore our initial courses (40 hours to be published in 2011, for which the initial lessons are always available for free), and take advantage of our money-back guarantee!  But most of all, perhaps, we welcome your suggestions on how to get better at meeting your needs for on-demand, online learning assets that enable you to do your job better. Just send me a note at .

As a special benefit to readers of the Ride The Lightning blog who are not members of ALSP or NACA, you can save $50 off the general retail price by entering the following promo code when you enroll:  DIS38080.
