Social Media Archiving

June 7, 2010

I heard from another reader, Jim Halberg, an engineer with Nextpoint.com, who wrote in part as follows:

Nextpoint, whom I work for, has an offering in beta right now that aims to accomplish exactly what you've laid out — capturing and preserving data from Twitter, Facebook, blogs, corporate web sites, etc. http://cloudpreservation.com

Messages & content (including javascript, html, videos, etc) are captured at whatever frequency you like – organized and indexed for convenient searching.  Optionally, you can even capture what's on the other end of offsite links.

…oh, and the price starts at $0… which is nice.

Thanks for writing Jim.

Note to readers:  There is indeed a 30-day free trial, after which prices range from $9/month to $149/month depending on the plan chosen.

Social media will be our focus for the next couple of days as we attend ALM's General Counsel conference to promote our new partnership with Applied Discovery introducing a new service: Social Media – Assessment, Risks and Techniques (SM-ART). ADI's social media guru Rob Robinson will be joining us along with e-discovery expert and attorney Virginia Henschel. We know that not everyone will be attending the conference and are happy to meet with anyone outside of the conference. Feel free to e-mail me to arrange a meeting.
