Taking ESI to Court on a Kindle? Now You Can Secure the Data

May 7, 2010

Amazon will not be rolling out its Kindle 2.5 update until later this month, but for security mavens, the news is good. The rollout will include password protection (along with a lot of social media friendly features).

A growing number of attorneys are taking evidence to court on their Kindles. Sure beats humping all those boxes on a hand truck. Though you may not be overconcerned about security with something you intend to introduce in court anyway, the failure to have the option of password protection was certainly a security hole. Glad to see it is about to be patched, and thanks to the folks at Ars Technica who shared the news with us.
