CANADA’S ONLINE LEGAL MAGAZINE, SLAW, POSTS ARTICLE FROM SENSEI ENTERPRISES, INC.
April 2, 2014
Sharon Nelson and John Simek have an article titled, “A Scary “Mask”: Tag, You’re It!” in the most recent edition of the Slaw magazine.
The term known as Advance Persistent Threat (APT) has many definitions, but one is defined as a body (possibly a government) that has the ability to target a specific entity with sophisticated intrusion techniques. Malware is the term that most firms are familiar with, but a new APT has been located at Kapersky Labs while they were patching some of their older products. This APT has been undetected and infecting computers for at least the last seven years. It has been hiding for such a long time that several researchers have called this the “Mask” or “Careto” (Spanish for “Ugly Face”) and it is one of the most complex APT operations that has been found in years.
