Sharon Nelson Featured in Washington Lawyer

March 28, 2018

Sensei’s Sharon Nelson was featured in the March 2018 edition of the Washington Lawyer. She was highlighted in the article “Blazing Trails in Legal Technology” by Erika Winston. Washington Lawyer is a publication of the D.C. Bar.
Excerpt: Sharon D. Nelson is a lawyer and president of Sensei Enterprises, Inc., a digital forensics, managed IT services provider, and cybersecurity firm. Nelson says she’s excited about the growing roles of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. “We are seeing both being utilized at larger law firms and it’s starting to filter down to smaller firms,” she says.
Nelson believes times are changing for women within the technology industry. “I haven’t had a problem with the issues that stop a lot of women from progressing within the industry. When selling our services to clients, I find that they want quality services at good prices,” she says. Nelson also recognizes that owning her business removes limitations that other women in legal technology may experience. “There’s no glass ceiling in a woman-owned business.”
For women new to the legal technology industry, Nelson suggests obtaining technical certifications. “It’s not enough to say I’m a lawyer. Certifications get you in the door,” she says.
