I suppose it was inevitable. As if the normal background noises and such aren’t bad enough, now you can add artificial ones. According to John Simek, “Zoom Escaper is a free web widget that provides audio excuses to leave a Zoom meeting.” Zoom Escaper describes itself as “a tool to help you escape Zoom meetings and other videoconferencing scenarios. It allows you to self-sabotage your audio stream, making your presence unbearable to others.” Sounds to me like a reason to be muted, not to exit the video call. What will they think of next?
