Add Folder Shortcuts to Start Menu Left Sidebar

November 10, 2020

There are a lot of customization options for Windows 10. A very useful feature is the ability to fully customize the start menu. As an example, you can add shortcuts for folders to quickly access a folder after clicking the Windows start icon. TechViral has a post with instructions to accomplish this.

  1. Click on the Start button and select Settings
  2. Click on the Personalization option
  3. Select the Start option
  4. On the right hand side click on the Choose which folders appear on Start choice
  5. Turn on the various folders you would like to see when you click the Start button

That's all there is to it. Once you are done, the selected folders will appear on the left sidebar when you click the Start button. If the selections above are not present, make sure you are running the latest version of Windows 10.
