Android 10 Users – Share Wi-Fi Password via QR Code
July 20, 2020
First off…your Wi-Fi password should be something that does not identify your location (no business or family names) and be something complex to authorize connection. That means most users will take several attempts before successfully connecting to the Wi-Fi network. You may have to write down the Wi-Fi password or even text the value to those that need to connect. The good news is that there is a simple way to share a Wi-Fi password if you are an Android 10 user.
The Android Police posted instructions on how to share a Wi-Fi password via a QR code if users have Android 10 running on their mobile device. If you want to share the code, go to your Wi-Fi settings and select the Wi-Fi network. The post says to look at the top of the screen for the share button, but it is at the bottom of the screen on my device. No matter where it is, click on the QR-like icon to share the Wi-Fi password. Have the other user scan the code to connect to the network without having to enter the password. Scanning the QR code is a lot easier than typing in a complex password.
