February 15, 2022

According to a post on The Hacker News, Google has released a patch for a zero day vulnerability in the Chrome Browser. “The shortcoming, tracked CVE-2022-0609, is described as a use-after-free vulnerability in the Animation component that, if successfully exploited, could lead to corruption of valid data and the execution of arbitrary code on affected systems.” Google also addressed four other use-after-free bugs. Apply the update now!

To check if you are running the patched version of Chrome, click on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the browser. Navigate to Help -> About Google Chrome. Make sure you are at Chrome 98.0.4758.102.
