Give a Priority Boost to a Windows Program

August 31, 2020

If you are running more than one program on your computer, Windows will determine the priority level for each one. There may be times when you wish there were more system resources devoted to a particular program. You do have the option to change the priority of a running program and Tech Viral has a post to tell you how. First, launch Task Manager. While you are on the Processes tab, find the App or Process you want to change, right click and select the Go to details option. Right click and select Set priority, where you will see six different priority levels – Realtime, High, Above Normal, Normal, Below Normal and Low. After you change the priority, a dialog box will appear requesting confirmation. Merely click the Change priority button to set the new priority level.
