Huge Microsoft Patch Tuesday to Start the Year

January 12, 2022

Yesterday was patch Tuesday for Microsoft and the first one of the year. Dark Reading reports that patch Tuesday includes 96 security updates. Nine updates are critical, 89 are classified as important and six are publicly known. That’s a lot of fixes even for Microsoft. As Dark Reading states, “The products affected in this month’s release include Microsoft Windows, the Edge browser (Chromium-based), Exchange Server, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics, .NET Framework, Open-Source Software, Windows Defender, Windows Hyper-V, and Remote Desktop Protocol.”

As usual, you should patch your systems as soon as possible. If you are using Office 2019 for Mac and Microsoft Office LTSC for Mac 2021, you’ll have to wait a bit for an update. Other users should install the patches before the cybercriminals begin attacking the flaws.
