Improve Wi-Fi Coverage with Range Extenders
September 23, 2021
We are a very mobile society and are constantly looking for a wireless network connection. With many people working remotely, good stable Wi-Fi for our homes is an imperative piece of getting our job done. Unfortunately, many residences are not hard wired with Ethernet cables and having a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout our living spaces can be a real challenge. One affordable solution is to use a range extender to cover the dead zones for our Wi-Fi network. But which extender should you purchase? BGR has a post to help you out.
A range extender works by connecting to your current Wi-Fi network and boosting the signal for additional coverage. The extender creates a new network with a different name, which means your devices have to switch between networks depending on their physical location. That can be a pain, but well worth it to get a stronger signal to the “far” reaches of your residence. Besides increasing the range of your Wi-Fi, extenders can be used to increase capacity by allowing more connected devices. The best extender for the money is the Netgear EX3700.
