Office 2021 Launches on October 5th

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for (perhaps). The Verge reported that Microsoft announced it will launch Office 2021 on the same day as Windows 11. That date is October 5, 2021. The perpetual version of Microsoft Office, known as Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC), is available now for Windows and Mac commercial customers. Office LTSC is not like the Office subscription model. Office LTSC is has a limited support life (5 years), no updated features for the life of the product and does not contain any artificial intelligence or cloud-based features found in Microsoft 365.

There are no details as to the pricing for Office 2021, but Microsoft has already announced its first price increase for Office 365 and Microsoft 365 effective March 2022. Microsoft recommends going with a subscription over the one-time purchase of LTSC and we agree.
