Time to Review Your Windows Security Policy
June 13, 2023
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the latest technology topic impacting our daily lives. More and more vendors are announcing how AI is being used in their products and services. Your computer operating system is no exception. Does your Windows security policy address how AI may be used in your organization? CSO has a post to help you address what users can do with AI systems. Basically, you should review your security policies and consider putting in some controls to limit what data or other confidential information may be entered into an AI system.
Windows Group Policy is your friend when putting some AI controls in place. As an example, if you want to restrict Bing Chat from your Windows devices, modify the Group Policy to remove the Bing AI button from Edge. Other Windows AI components can be controlled via GPO as well. Planning is everything. Make sure you plan how you want to control your desktop and network for the eventual introduction of AI.
