Try the New Office UI Before the Official Release

December 7, 2021

Techviral reports that Microsoft has released the new Office UI (User Interface) for all Office 365 and Office 2021 users. The ribbon and buttons have been changed to match the visual changes in Windows 11. The UI may be automatically enabled if you are already using Windows 11. Microsoft said that almost half of the current channel subscribers will have the visual update enabled automatically.

If you are not one of the “chosen” few, you can still try out the new interface in OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. You toggle the new UI by clicking on the megaphone icon in the upper right corner. “Most of the changes in design are fine, but Microsoft has brought more changes to its Office UI that include moving towards the command bar instead of the ribbon interface.” Supposedly, the ribbon is becoming more simplified. We’ll have to see what the final product looks like when it is officially released.
