Turn On 2FA for Your Google Account

It is still amazing that users are so resistant to using two-factor authentication (2FA) for their accounts. For most 2FA implementations, you can select to remember the device. That means you won't have to punch in a code every time you login. Even if you don't have the choice, you should be using 2FA everywhere you can. 2FA will stop account takeover attempts if the attacker somehow acquires your user ID and password.

If you haven't already done it, Android Police has instructions on how to enable 2FA for your Google account. You enable the setting in the Security section of your Google account. You'll need an authenticator app such as Authy, Google Authenticator, Duo, etc. Using an authentication app is much more secure than getting an SMS text message code. No matter which method you choose (authentication app, text message or physical token), enable 2FA now.
