Watch Out for Holiday Scams
December 15, 2022
It’s that time of year again. Holidays are one of the favorite times for cyber criminals to increase their attack activities. People are traveling, shopping and generally performing a lot of online activities. This means we’re more likely to fall for scams designed to part us from our money and personal information. To help during the holiday season, Review Geek has advice describing some common scams and steps to avoid them.
- Delivery Confirmation Text Scams
- That Call From Amazon, Apple, or Walmart is Fake
- Avoid “Secret Sister” and Secret Santa Gift Exchanges
Be careful of other scams and try to avoid them. These would include such things as giveaways, fake charities, public Wi-Fi, targeted emails, fake stores on social media, card skimming, subscription renewals and crypto scams. Probably the best advice is to be suspicious. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably a scam.
