Zero-day Flaw Attacks Chromium-based Browsers

August 13, 2020

Here we go again. Another zero-day flaw has been revealed that attacks Chromium-based browsers. Chromium-based browsers include Chrome, Edge and Opera browsers. The Hacker News reported that attackers can bypass CSP (Content Security Policy) protection for unpatched browsers. As the post stated, "According to PerimeterX, some of the most popular websites, including Facebook, Wells Fargo, Zoom, Gmail, WhatsApp, Investopedia, ESPN, Roblox, Indeed, TikTok, Instagram, Blogger, and Quora, were susceptible to the CSP bypass." The Chrome 84 update patches the vulnerability. Another reason to make sure your operating system and applications are patched with the latest updates.
