SHARON NELSON AND JOHN SIMEK FEATURED IN LEGALTECH NEWS
August 2, 2016
Sensei’s President, Sharon Nelson and Vice President, John Simek are currently featured in Legaltech News. Legaltech News magazine and website share a mission to provide lucid, insightful, and jargon-free coverage of legal technology trends and developments to an audience of legal industry professionals, helping them use technology and innovation to deliver faster, better, and cheaper legal services.
Sharon and John were speaking at the Atlanta’s 2016 Solo & Small Firm Institute, giving a presentation entitled “On The Trail of the Craigslist Killer: A Study in Digital Forensics.” Sharon and John discussed four places to leverage digital forensics: video surveillance, phone data, Internet service providers (ISPs) and social media.
Here is an excerpt from the Legaltech News article:
“According to Simek and Nelson, mobile phones, especially iPhones, are data-rich places for attorneys to seek client information. “There is more damn evidence on an iPhone than probably any other device I’ve ever seen in my life,” Simek said, adding that texts, emails, timestamps and photos are just some of the types of data phones offer.
Data pulled from applications like WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, Waze, Kik Messenger, Tinder, and even applications as new as Pokemon Go, can be mined to support casework.”
