Take the Free Google Phishing Quiz

January 23, 2019

According to the Verizon 2018 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR), seventy percent of data breaches involved phishing. People fall for phishing emails every day. According to internet security company, Cofense, almost 11 percent of people that receive a phishing email will click on the link or open the attachment. Digital Trends stated that Google reports that phishing attacks are disguised in 1 percent of all emails sent.

Even though companies are increasingly performing security awareness training, the carbon-based units still fall for phishing emails. To be fair, the bad guys are getting really good at crafting very believable phishing emails. So how good are you at spotting phishing email? Google has designed a free quiz to help internet users spot messages to avoid being a victim of a phishing attack. There are eight samples in the test and you have to select whether the message is legitimate or a phishing email. Once you make your selection, the quiz shows you the various elements that are valid or malicious in nature. I must admit that I wish there was a way to get some more detail with some of the samples to help with the decisions. One of them is particularly difficult. Apparently, I guessed right since I obtained a perfect score. Take the test to see how good you are at spotting phishing emails.
