Seriously? Apple Allows Crypto Mining Apps

March 13, 2018

The latest malware attack vector is the ability to use your computer processing power and electricity to generate cryptocurrencies. Your machine slows down and cryptocurrency is being mined in the background without your knowledge. That's the latest trend in malware. Apparently, Apple thinks it is a good idea to help with the cryptocurrency mining process since the app is still available in the Mac App Store. The Calendar 2 app aims to provide more features than the native Mac Calendar app. To be fair, the app is transparent about the mining of Monero cryptocurrency. The user must approve the mining in exchange for turning on premium features in the app. The user also has the option of paying a fee for the premium features instead of the mining option.
