Windows 10 Recovery Drives Made Easy
November 15, 2016
Besides not having a current backup, the next worst thing is not being able to reload your operating system if the hard drive dies. PCWorld has a posting with instructions on how to create Windows 10 recovery drives. Besides being able to reinstall your operating system, a Windows recovery disk also includes several troubleshooting tools, which can be a lifesaver if your system won't boot. It's easy to create a recovery drive with the built-in tool for Windows 10.
- Get yourself an 8 or 16 GB USB flash drive.
- Get into Windows Control Panel and type create a recovery drive into the search bar.
- You'll need your administrator credentials to go further.
- Make sure you check the box labeled Back up system files to the recovery drive.
- Follow the remaining prompts.
Don't delay. Create your Windows 10 recovery drive, but please backup your system too.
